Hardwood Installation

Getting ready for new hardwood

Hardwood Installation in Cathedral City, Indio, and Palm Desert, CA

Follow these helpful steps before, during, and after your hardwood installation for a seamless process.

Before Hardwood Installation:

When preparing for new hardwood installation, start by removing all the furniture, electronics, and wall hangings from the rooms and closets. The existing flooring will need to be removed and disposed of entirely since hardwood can’t be installed over another flooring. All imperfections in the subfloor will need to be repaired to ensure a completely flat surface. Bring the hardwood planks into the room to acclimate for at least 48 hours prior to installation.

During Hardwood Installation:

On the day of your new hardwood installation, an adult will need to be home to answer questions for the installation crew. Designate an area in the home for installers to keep tools, store boxes of hardwood before they are installed, and saw planks as needed. Keep all children and pets away from the installation areas, and establish proper ventilation as instructed by your installation crew.

After Hardwood Installation:

Once your hardwood installation is complete, it is extremely important to wait for the specified amount of time before walking on the new floors and returning the furnishings to the room. Always lift or use proper moving equipment with rollers when returning furniture and heavy items. We recommend using felt protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to reduce impact.
